Customer Analytics

The Supervisor of Customer Analytics within the Insights, Product, and Marketing organization at Popular Bank, you will play a critical role in enhancing Popular Bank’s ability to leverage data by leading critical analytics and reporting efforts for the Bank.

 

You will help to foster a data-driven culture with a focus on improving customer experience and retention, increasing the ROI of products and marketing campaigns, and enhancing our understanding of customers and prospects. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of highly visible projects, partner with multiple stakeholders, and drive change across the Bank.

 

This role offers a high degree of latitude and requires proficiency with BI and CRM tools, analytics, and creative problem solving.

In this position, you will:

Advanced Analytics

  • Partner with leadership, other business areas, and technology teams to develop and run advanced analytics projects (including customer segmentation, customer / product profitability, pricing optimization, customer lifetime value, churn, etc.) to deliver informed insights for our customers and guide decision making across business lines 
  • Understand business context to test useful hypotheses, find meaning in data and apply results to answer specific business questions and needs
  • Evaluate performance of advanced analytics solutions and develop processes for solution calibration, as needed

 

Customer Database Management & Optimization

  • Working closely with leadership & IT, support the design and build of new solutions for customer data integrity and structure so data can be fully leveraged for product, marketing, sales and statistical modeling efforts. 
  • Partner with IT and other business areas to operationalize advanced analytics solutions and capabilities within customer data pools
  • Act as the daily business owner of the customer database
  • Manage and govern the Bank’s metadata structure to ensure alignment between financial and customer database.  Define and manage processes accordingly to keep synchronization of the datasets.
  • Enhance company data and identify potential third party data sources as needed to support new analytical models and frameworks; Collaborate with IT to integrate new sources

 

Reporting and Insights

  • Ensure reliable and accurate reporting in support of different business units and support functions across the Bank, based on business needs
  • Analyze and report insights from data and reports, helping provide context for critical business decisions

 

Organizational Leadership

  • Represent the Analytics team and the IPM organization in discussions with senior leaders across the Bank
  • Manage a small team of analysts and insights professionals, ensuring high quality work and opportunities for professional development for the team

To be considered, you will need:

  • A passion for—and proven success in—the application of data and analytics to real world business problems
  • Ability to lead groups and shepherd stakeholders from ideas to initial requirements to execution
  • Deep curiosity about work and learning new techniques and methodologies; eagerness to test, fail and learn; self-starter with ability to operate well independently without intensive oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical and modeling applications to business needs, driving measurable results
  • Degree in statistics, math, data science, computer science, or the equivalent in experience
  • At least 7 years of experience with data analysis/ mining techniques (SAS, SPSS, R, etc.)
  • At least 7 years of experience with advanced modeling techniques (linear & logistic regression, decision trees, etc.)
  • Experience with machine learning techniques (Naive Bayes, neural networks, SVM, etc.) preferred
  • Background in SQL, Java, Scala, Python preferred

 

Education/Work experience:
Bachelor’s degree - Business Administration or related area
