Summer 2025 Substation - CAD Intern

The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for an internship in our Substation department as a CAD Technician for the Summer of 2025. The focus of the internship will be for an individual of high integrity to grow in personal excellence through learning technical and communications skills while supporting client success through work on project deliverables.

 

 What You'll Do

The CAD Technician Intern supports an assigned group of engineers by providing technical drafting support and creating construction drawings for substation protection/control and physical designs under close supervision. Successful candidates will complete tasks within Ulteig's Substation Department designing/drafting electrical substations. Candidates must have strong attention to detail and work well within a team. An internship with Ulteig provides valuable engineering design experience, practical application of coursework, and valuable workforce experience with a top consulting engineering firm.

 

What We Expect from You

• Two year technical degree or currently enrolled in school for Technical Drafting
• Knowledge of Microstation is a plus
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is required
• Proven experience in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
• Must be able to work over summer 2025 at one of our office locations, option to work during school year based on business needs
• Knowledge in substation electrical protection and control, and/or physical design would be beneficial
• Good organization and communication skills to assure projects are completed on schedule
• Must have permanent authorization to work in the US
