Coinbase is seeking interns with interest in Security to join our GRCP team. Your work will help solve unique, large-scale, highly complex problems and help us build the next generation of secure and compliant systems to make cryptocurrency accessible to everyone.

The Privacy team is seeking an intern to join our dynamic Privacy team that is touching the bleeding edge of data and privacy issues. The intern will do hands-on work to help design, review, build, and deploy new features that improve existing products like Coinbase.com, Custody, and Wallet, as well as dive into assessing innovative, vendor

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Partner across privacy stakeholders to revamp policies and procedures
• Assess vendor capabilities to determine solutions to enhance our privacy capabilities and
  control environment
• Perform some light scripting work, such as integrating existing Jira processes in privacy assessments with existing vendors, or vice versa
• Partner with the Coinbase Data Science team to integrate vendor capabilities into the
  Coinbase model

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Social Sciences, Humanities, or another academic field; note that fields including, but not limited to, technical engineering and computer science degrees are welcome, but not required
• You love quality data and poking at details. You have interest and experience in data management and comfort with qualitative/technical data
• You're interested in risk - you want to understand best, worst, and likely scenarios, and can research data to help drive meaningful decisions. Beginner privacy, risk, vendor management, or compliance experience a plus, but not necessary
• You self-study. You are comfortable with G-Suite and open to learning how to use new tools and technology
• Having passion for and/or experience in securing products used by customers around the world
• Self-motivated, growth mindset, and comfort building professional relationships and collaborating in teams
• Approach projects with positive energy, attention to detail, and willingness to absorb feedback to increase your success
