Graders & Peer Facilitators for STEM courses at UW Bothell, Summer 2023

Faculty in the School of STEM will need graders/readers and peer facilitators for their Summer 2023 courses. See the Application Instructions for how to apply. You may apply for more than one course. All positions are subject to course enrollment. Positions remain open until filled. Some positions have possibility to be done remotely.

Graders are needed for the following:

  • B EE 235 A
  • B EE 425 A
  • B EE 447 A
  • B EE 477 A
  • STMATH 124 A
  • ENGR 390 A

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Graders:  Following the UW Classification Description for Reader/Grader, graders provide diverse services as course assistants, which will normally include grading student papers and examinations. Grader duties may also include: attendance at lectures, office hours, consultation with instructors, and other duties as assigned. Graders may not perform teaching duties.

The faculty supervisor will provide specific details about the duties related to each course and the number of allocated grading or facilitating hours prior to the start of your appointment.

These positions are eligible for work study.

Hours per week: 1–10 (to be determined)

Hourly pay rate:

  • Graders:
    • Undergraduate student rate—$18.69/hour
    • Graduate student rate—$20.00/hour
  • Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (formerly known as Peer facilitators): $18.69/hour (undergraduates only)

Estimated work period: Approximately June 20 - August 19, 2023

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed the course or have strong knowledge in the area in which you are applying to be a grader or facilitator.
  • Must be a currently registered UW student in Autumn quarter, taking at least 6 credits if an undergraduate or 4 credits if a graduate student.  

Note: If you are or will be working elsewhere on campus, be aware that students are limited to working a combined total of 19.5 hours per week, or 19 hours if work study, in all campus jobs when you are enrolled in classes.
