Student - Manufacturing Engineer

Job Overview

• Assist manufacturing with implementation of safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements
• Design fixtures, carts, and tooling
• Research and justify new capital equipment
• Create methods for standard work procedures
• Participate in Rapid Improvement (Kaizen) events
• Recognize and help with problem solving efforts
• Assist with preventative maintenance procedures
• Work with design engineers to implement design changes

A Day In The Life

• 40% Floor support projects
• 40% ME Group support
• 20% Individual facility projects

What will help you thrive in this role?

• Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting and forming, painting and assembly
• Utilization of Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Experience with AutoCAD or Creo is a plus
• Mechanical/construction aptitude and hands-on design a plus
• Experience in fixture design (part specific tables and tools to help with manufacturing practices)

• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems
• Ability to take on multiple responsibilities/ projects at once
• Background in 3D printing is a plus
