Student Intern

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Student Intern in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin office. This internship is full-time during the Summer of 2024 with the potential to work part-time during the academic year. The hourly rate for this position is $19.30 with paid company holidays.

Job Summary

We employ students for summer and year-round opportunities to help design creative cost effective systems and equipment that keep the energy flowing to our customers in a safe and reliable manner. WEC Energy Group offers a variety of engineering opportunities for students seeking hands-on experience that are currently enrolled in a four-year degree program. Students work with experienced members of these functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Support staff on projects while developing skills, technical expertise, interpersonal and communication skills, and project management skills.
• Build working knowledge within their field through exposure to a variety of daily tasks, and projects.
• Collaborate with the creative team to modify and adapt existing design assets to meet the specific requirements of each project. This could include brochures, advertisements, fact sheets, social media graphics and PowerPoints.
• Ensure that all designs adhere to industry standards, quality, and brand guidelines.
• Prepare print-ready files and assets, including file preflight, color correction, and image optimization.

Minimum Experience Required

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
• Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8
