The New School offers employment opportunities to enable students to gain professional experience and develop connections with our faculty, staff, and enrich our campus community. Whenever possible, this employment should complement and reinforce students' educational program(s). Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources, the Student Employment Partner will develop programming to support the implementation of consistent and equitable policies, and practices, that enhance the student employment experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the operational lead for student employment; develop and provide resources to students who are interested in on-and-off campus employment opportunities; review and approve student jobs for working with departments to ensure optimal student experience in the hiring and onboarding process.
Develops and presents student employment orientation sessions including overview of general learning goals and objectives related to student employment at the university, conducts training sessions for supervisors particularly on time and attendance for students and managing student employees; maintains accuracy in monitoring monthly earnings of students in the FWS program, and notifies supervisors of eligible hours available; and monitors financial aid reports for award changes.
Develop engaging materials for students and families to inform them about the student employment process, opportunities and ways to engage on and off campus, such as a Student Worker Resource Guide;
Participate and/or develop events and programming throughout the year geared towards new and returning students through partnerships with various university offices (ex. New Student Orientations, Welcome week).
Consistently engage with campus partners & hiring managers providing support, guidance and education on the hiring process, classifying student worker positions, federal and state requirements, and how to hire student workers utilizing our process and HCM/ATS systems;
Work with Talent Acquisition on posting internal and external opportunities and offers; Coordinates production of job opportunity announcements and refers students to prospective employers.
Work with Provost Office and Financial Aid to continuously monitor and streamline processes across the student worker life cycle, utilizing metrics and other data to make recommendations on improvements as appropriate;
Manage off campus part-time student worker partnerships and opportunities for student employment community engagement; meeting in-person with community businesses, retailers and other neighborhood organizations; serves as liaison between employers and students; administers and coordinates activities associated with the employer.
Prepare and maintain relevant workshops, resources, coaching to prepare students for off campus part time employment opportunities;
Collaborates closely with Financial Aid, Student Success, International Student Services, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and various campus offices.
Perform other and related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree, plus at least three years’ applicable experience required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, multitasking skills, and computer skills (MS Office & Excel).
Experience in business process reviews and business process improvements in a large, complex organization.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptability to deal with ambiguity in a complex, changing environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Human Resources/Payroll/Career Center/Financial Aid or other front facing student roles.
Knowledge of student work structures in a university setting.
Familiarity with Workday HCM and/or Finance functionality.
Experience with implementation of student employment centralization in a university setting.
