Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting and pro-active portfolio management of a portfolio of Securitized Lending transactions.  The main asset classes covered include auto loan/leases, trade finance, credit cards, consumer loans, residential and CLO.
  • Underwrites risk (i.e., selection/rejection of new and renewal business).
  • Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepares reports accordingly.
  • Administers and monitors underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, laws and regulations.
  • Monitor the assigned portfolio as well as profit/growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans.
  • Responsible for the quality, integrity and soundness of all credit analysis and underwriting, and proposing appropriate risk ratings in accordance with the Bank’s credit policies and guidelines.
  • Responsible for making recommendations on renewals, modifications, and new transactions.
  • Maintain credit files in accordance with policy.
  • Manage credit approval process. Prepare presentations for credit committees. Respond to questions as they arise.
  • Provide support to the manager of the department on continuous improvement initiatives and take the lead on projects that support loan growth and efficiency objectives within lines of business. S/he applies Bank’s Credit policies and framework in support of risk management and business development.
  • Build strong relationships throughout the Bank.  The main partner is the Securitized Lending / ABS product team.  Other relevant partners in the bank are Credit, Relationship, and Legal Partners. Support Securitized Lending Team Leader on special projects.
  • Reviews, analyzes and evaluates risks in order to renew existing business or generate new accounts/transactions.
  • Determines appropriate terms and conditions for coverages and rates for transaction profitability.
  • Contributes to the profitable growth of the portfolio) by maintaining pricing integrity, product excellence, and the development of meaningful performance metrics and controls.
  • Work closely with and support product team in transaction execution.  Coordinate with the corporate credit team and RM on relationship implications for Securitized Lending deals.
  • Review and validate cash flow models for new transactions and perform stress test analysis.
  • Proactively propose amendments to Securitized Lending policy to improve efficiency while remaining compliant with the wider bank policy.
  • Ensure regulatory and legal compliance is achieved on Securitized Lending transactions.
  • Perform ongoing portfolio monitoring of Securitized Lending transaction performance (including performance triggers) to identify and anticipate credit issues in a timely fashion. 
  • Stay current on industry developments, update management as necessary, and propose rating changes when necessary to appropriately reflect credit quality of Securitized Lending transactions in the portfolio at all times.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent field. Quantitative background is a plus.

Work Experience:

  • Financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and portfolio management, 3-7 years or relevant experience
  • Experience with underwriting securitized lending transactions, 3-7 years or relevant experience
