Summary

The global strategic sourcing & procurement department operates within a dynamic environment that necessitates exceptional organizational skills, efficient time management, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure while overseeing multiple RFP projects and renewals to meet crucial deadlines.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a pivotal role in software sourcing, supplier relationship management, data & analytics, outsourcing professional services, negotiating commercial terms, risk mitigation, and contract management across Workiva. This position specifically focuses on strategic sourcing within the IT vertical, emphasizing software applications to support key initiatives. Additionally, the Strategic Sourcing Manager interfaces and cultivates a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams globally.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and execute long-term agreements through formal RFx methodologies

  • Collaborates and builds strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand requirements, current gaps, and challenges to drive excellence in strategic sourcing 

  • Lead supplier contract renewals, QBRs, and leverage competitive benchmarking pricing, quality, and customer service

  • Analyze spending data and industry dynamics to identify, prioritize, and launch sourcing initiatives

  • Establish positive relationships across the business units in diverse geographical locations to ensure active and early participation in supplier-related matters

  • Develop strategic relationships with existing or new key suppliers and ensure appropriate engagement levels exist to drive partnership objectives

  • Proven success in sourcing, managing complex negotiations, and delivery of contracts, with an emphasis on enterprise software-related purchases

  • Improve and maximize Workiva's financial position through the price, payment terms, and redlining other terms & conditions

  • Guide internal stakeholders on new business initiatives, sourcing strategies and contract review

  • Analyze software portfolio to identify contract improvements, and increase efficiencies. improve supplier KPIs and optimize spending opportunities

  • Mentor other members of the team on industry best practices

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Law, Information Technology or a related program or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

  • 6 years of Strategic Sourcing experience focused on IT projects for software and services

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience in negotiating complex Accounting/Finance SaaS applications

  • Demonstrate success with managing an RFx project throughout its lifecycle 

  • Experience with global sourcing and knowledge of regulatory compliance  

  • Proven success in sourcing, negotiating, and delivering contracts, with an emphasis on enterprise software-related purchases

  • Highly skilled expert in negotiation skills in both financial and business matters, including redlining commercial terms and risk mitigation for strategic contracts

  • Must have a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Creative problem solver and ability to build relationships across internal teams and with suppliers

  • Experience with eProcurement platform and contract lifecycle management system

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, strong organizational and time management skills

  • Experience with software contract rationalization supporting mergers and acquisitions

How You’ll Be Rewarded:

  • Salary range in the US: 
$101,000.00 - $172,000.00
  • A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
  • Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
