Description
We are seeking a dependable, organized and detail-oriented Storekeeper to oversee the receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of supplies and materials at the Veterans Home at Holyoke. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate inventory records, maintain a clean and organized storeroom and support daily operations by providing timely access to needed supplies.
About the Veterans Home at Holyoke:
The Veterans Home at Holyoke is a state-funded, fully accredited health care facility that offers veterans quality health care, including full-time residential accommodations, and provides educational and social services for Veterans in the Commonwealth. The Veterans Home at Holyoke is staffed by approximately 330+ administrators, clinicians, nurses, certified nursing assistants, skilled trade, dietary staff, housekeeping staff, contractors, consultants and general administrative personnel. The tradition of service to the veterans of Massachusetts is surpassed only by a continued commitment to excellence in care for those who are in need now and in the future. Our mission is to provide “Care with Dignity, Honor, and Respect” to our Veterans.
Schedule:
This is a full-time, forty (40) hour per week position working Monday through Friday from 10:00am-6:30pm. Please note: This is 24 hour/7 days a week long-term care facility and as a result, the Veterans Home at Holyoke may require this individual to be present during nontraditional hours when circumstances dictate the operational need.
Duties and Responsibilities (please note that this list is not all-inclusive):
1. Oversees the receipt, verification, documentation, storage, and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment delivered to the facility, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and timely service to operational areas.
2. Reviews received goods against purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and other supporting documentation; confirms quantities, weights, condition, and identifying information, and ensures items are unloaded and placed in designated storage areas.
3. Monitors supply request communications and coordinates the fulfillment, delivery, and documentation of requested items for appropriate units and departments.
4. Prepares, reviews, and submits daily receiving logs and related documentation to the Business Office and Central Supply to support accurate inventory, purchasing, and financial records.
5. Stock and maintain inventory control for office supplies, floor supplies, utility cart supplies, and other assigned stock items using established par levels, replenishment procedures, and inventory rotation practices.
6. Coordinates with Central Supply to provide inventory data, support updates to inventory records, and identify, research, and resolve discrepancies in stock counts, deliveries, or supply documentation.
7. Supports effective supply chain operations by communicating with vendors, Buyers, department heads, Central Supply, and other internal stakeholders regarding orders, deliveries, inventory needs, and supply-related issues.
8. Collaborates with Buyers and administrative staff to promote consistency, continuity, and compliance in purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and distribution operations.
