Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire a Storekeeper III for The Office of Law Enforcement. This position will serve as a working supervisor providing guidance and training to assigned staff, register all law enforcement boat and fleet vessels turned into the distribution center, issue and deliver specialized law enforcement equipment, use a forklift to move heavy items in and out of storage, track the receipt and disposal of firearms, hunting, fishing, trapping equipment and animals in whole or parts, maintain a database of property-controlled inventory and update a variety of spreadsheets on evidence inventory items and stored supplies. Essential Functions
- Under general direction of the Conservation Police Lieutenant, supervises the large scale of complex storekeeping and warehousing work for the Office of Law Enforcement (OLE) operations and support services.

- Receives, itemizes, and properly stores all evidentiary items.
- Supervises the storage of confiscated and abandoned property, including firearms and ammunition, various equipment; clothing for both new officers and resupplying active officers and commodities.
- Receives and stores critical documentation from the Springfield headquarters.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years high school.
- Requires two years supervisory experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of extensive knowledge of storekeeping and warehousing methods and procedures in the receipt, storage, and shipment of a variety of goods.
- Three (3) years of extensive knowledge of purchasing and requisition procedures and uses of grading for different types of merchandise.
- Three (3) years of professional experience supervising the keeping of inventory records.
- Three (3) years of professional experience supervising and instructing other works.
- Three (3) years of knowledge inspecting for quality of goods against purchase orders and specifications.
- Three (3) years of working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
