The Opportunity 

We are seeking a Staff Wireless Software Engineer with expertise in Wi-Fi technology to enhance our integrated connectivity solutions for NLOS (Non-Line-of-Sight) and through-wall drone operations.

In this role, you will take full ownership of the Wi-Fi stack, integrating firmware and RF capabilities to optimize performance. You will lead unit testing for the integration process and develop user-space and driver features to achieve our connectivity goals.

You will work closely with RF, systems, device software, and cloud engineering teams to design and refine cutting-edge solutions.

This position requires partial on-site presence at our Engineering Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Skillset 

  • 3-5 years or higher with Hands on experience in user space and kernel driver in 802.11 recent standards

  • B.Sc or  degree in computer Science or higher

  • Experience in C, C++ and Python is required 

  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)

  • Excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to work with a cross-functional team and drive for timely project success

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Qualcomm WiFi Networking code base and software release.

  • Knowledge in other wireless standards mostly 3GPP or CV2X.

  • Knowledge and experience with commercial connectivity devices to include Mobile and IoT devices 

  • Experience with wireless products and general software stack of these products

  • Familiarity with databricks, Snowflakes or similar data base software

90 Days at Flock

This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired as a NPI Engineer at Flock Safety. 

The First 30 Days

  • Learn about Flock products and how to use them in the lab. 

  • Working on establishing a test set-up that can facilitate a video stream from a transmitter over wifi to a receiver and create a test framework. 

The First 60 Days 

  • Architecture and automate an RVR over this set-up. Establish metrics.

  • Develop connectivity interface between cloud and a wifi based radio for drone operation 

90 Days & Beyond 

  • Develop user space level features that are required for optimizing video and latency performance over a noisy environment. 

  • Complete the 90 days with a demonstration of the automated set-up and test and evaluation that facilitates RVR and statistics extraction at a basic level.
