Staff Software Engineer - Payins + Fraud

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of developing the team's commercial and product strategy and will be expected to be equally focused on user needs and to exercise good commercial (not just technical) judgement.  StubHub is committed to being a phenomenal and inclusive place to work. About the team:StubHub has two types of customers - buyers and sellers. Sellers come here to make money - and Payments Team owns everything around making it happen! That includes making sure our sellers get paid the correct amount, in correct currency, via correct payment method, as quickly as possible AND within the specific business requirements set for them by the business. At the same time, since the team is responsible for any and all outgoing payments, they are tasked protecting the cash - as it would be catastrophic if something were to go wrong 

What You've Done:

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development 
• Understanding of core JavaScript concepts, and practical experience building robust stateful web applications 
• Extensive experience in designing large scale web applications across the entire stack using multiple general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, C/C++)
• Previous experience designing and developing solutions to complex problems with significant business impact; focus on large-scale business engineering is preferred

It would be great to see someone with:

• 2+ years of team leadership/management experience in a hands-on capacity
• Experience working closely with product teams, designers, and other engineers to create impactful and highly-performant web experiences
• Proven ability to learn other coding languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain impactful improvements across StubHub's platforms and products with agility and resulting in high-quality outcomes
• Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices across our code
• Own the technical design and roadmap for the Payins + Fraud platform
• Leverage your expertise in building and operating high scale systems with a focus on reliability and quality of analyzed data
• Manage individual initiative priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise

The anticipated gross annual base salary range for this role is $240,000 – $350,000 per year. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which also includes equity, 401(k), flexible time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
