Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer, macOS/iOS Lead to lead our iOS engineering team. As a Team Lead, you will oversee the full development lifecycle of complex iOS projects, provide technical guidance, and set best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to shape the product roadmap while mentoring and developing team members. Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

Oversee the full development lifecycle of complex iOS projects, from concept to release and maintenance.
Provide technical guidance to engineers, ensuring efficient design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Set and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural principles. Architecture & Design
Act as the primary engineering lead in initiatives and development.
Debug and review team members' code to ensure best practices.
Architect reusable software components and frameworks to ensure scalability, high performance, and maintainability.
Evaluate and implement new technologies and frameworks that align with project objectives.

Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product managers, designers, and backend teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback to team members.
Represent the iOS engineering perspective in strategic discussions and influence the product roadmap.

Mentorship & Team Development

Lead and mentor other Swift engineers, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Conduct code reviews, pair programming sessions, and team workshops to raise technical proficiency.

Quality & Performance

Implement and advocate for high-quality testing practices, including unit, integration, and UI tests.
Monitor and optimize app performance, reliability, and security.
Identify and resolve technical debt to maintain sustainable development velocity

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years in iOS or macOS development.
Strong understanding of multithreading and memory management in iOS.
Experience with Core ML and Metal for on-device machine learning.
Familiarity with Xcode, Instruments, and other iOS development tools.
Knowledge of iOS security best practices and privacy considerations.
Solid understanding of network protocols such as MQTT and WSS.
