Staff Software Engineer
As Staff Software Engineer, you’ll work with industry leading Lytx Safety Software, which manages massive amounts of video and data collected from over 1 million vehicles worldwide and ensures the best possible outcomes by identifying behaviors and events that impact safety. Be responsible for building solutions that collect, organize, and present information for tracking the safety and efficiency of commercial transportation drivers and fleets. Lead projects, establish engineering best practices, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across Agile teams. Using Video Telematics, Machine Vision, and AI to derive intelligent insights for all devices and vehicles on our network, you’ll help accelerate our software. Doesn’t that sound exciting?
You’ll Get To:
· Rapidly prototype, deploy and test innovation solutions within our markets that enhances our position.
· Build scalable solutions to manage data and real-time status of a million+ independent devices.
· Guide the architectural direction and engineering practices for assigned applications.
· Make a large impact across multiple engineering teams spread globally by providing thought leadership on architecture and technical designs.
· Mentor across teams to grow their skills and build high-quality solutions.
· Work directly with Product Management, IT, and Operations to define, test, and productize new solutions that enhance our position within our markets.
· Act as a liaison between our global sites in India, Israel and US (up to 30%).
· Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
· B.E/B Tech in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
· Enterprise software engineer experience with 9+ years’ building scalable web applications.
· Deep design experience in building highly scalable systems/applications in the cloud.
· Expertise in building high scale distributed systems with technologies like Kafka.
· Expert knowledge of object-oriented design practices and enterprise patterns.
· Expert level knowledge of high-level languages (preferably C#).
· Full stack developer knowledge with focus on the front end with Angular or similar web frameworks.
· Design and development experience with microservices, RESTful APIs.
· Expertise in data modelling and working with databases like MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
· Experience working in a public cloud like AWS, Azure or GCP.
· Ability to collaborate across numerous teams, document ideas, strategies and effectively communicate across teams.
· Passion for working across teams to drive engineering vision and best practices.
· Must be willing and flexible to work across time zones related to India, Israel and US.
