About the role:
MMS Infusion Team is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to help define and implement standards for secure software development. The ideal candidate will serve as a domain expert in cloud-based solutions and have experience developing regulated products connected to hospital networks. We are looking for someone with a strong passion for continuous learning and a dedication to building high-quality, secure, and impactful healthcare software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the internal platform as a product, with clear accountability for usability, reliability, security, and adoption across engineering teams.
- Design, build, and operate a hybrid application platform spanning cloud-native (Azure, AWS, GCP) and on‑prem environments.
- Deliver self-service capabilities for developers, including standardized templates, golden paths, and automated environment provisioning.
- Build and operate CI/CD platforms that support cloud-native, containerized, and on‑prem workloads with minimal friction for product teams.
- Develop and maintain platform building blocks (IaC modules, base images, container platforms, shared services) that enable consistent deployments.
- Embed security, compliance, and reliability by default into the platform using secure configurations, policy-as-code, and automated controls.
- Implement and evolve container and orchestration platforms (managed Kubernetes, self-managed Kubernetes, OpenShift, or equivalent) across hybrid environments.
- Provide unified observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) as a platform service for both cloud and on‑prem workloads.
- Define and enforce platform standards while enabling flexibility through well-documented extension points.
- Act as a hands-on contributor: writing code, Terraform, pipeline definitions, automation scripts, and operational tooling.
- Partner closely with application teams to gather feedback, understand difficulties, and continuously improve platform capabilities.
- Participate in resolving incidents for services and drive root cause analysis and preventive improvements.
- Ensure platform capabilities align with BD policies, software quality standards, and regulatory requirements through automated, auditable mechanisms.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
- Strong Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C#, GO with strong automation skills in TypeScript, PowerShell, or Python.
- Experience in designing and developing scalable microservices. Ability to define platform APIs, contracts, and documentation that enable teams to consume the platform independently.
- Proven background in designing and managing internal developer platforms as a product rather than ad hoc infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and on‑prem/private cloud environments.
- Experience designing self-service platforms, developer workflows, and CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and configuration management (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm).
- Strong background in platform security by default, including IAM, secrets management, encryption, network segmentation, and policy-as-code.
- Experience building and operating container
