Position Summary
We are seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead our Java application development team. In this role, you will collaborate with Architecture, Product Manager/Owner and Agile team to build Enterprise level scalable and reusable services using Spring Boot. The Staff Software Development Engineer will be responsible for driving technical decisions, mentoring team members, and ensuring the delivery of high quality and resilient software. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud technologies like Azure and Azure native technologies, EDI, MQ and container technologies like OpenShift.
Required Qualifications
- Should have minimum 8+ years of experience in JEE application development. Must be familiar with J2EE design patterns, MQ, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate and microservices architecture
- 6+ years of proven experience as a Technical Team Lead and mentoring junior developers on J2EE web applications and batch applications deployed with and without containers in Cloud and on-prem in application servers like WebSphere, Liberty, and Tomcat
- 6+ years developing REST API's and microservices. Familiar with Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices Architecture
- Must have experience building services using Azure, Azure cloud native technologies like Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus etc.
- Experience troubleshooting and solving complex technical issues that span multiple layers like Firewall, F5 and applications hosted in containers or on-prem.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and maintaining EDI applications
- Experience working with various J2EE design patterns, and the ability to identify the appropriate pattern for a given problem.
- Experience with code versioning tools such as Git and collaboration tools (confluence, JIRA)
- Extensive experience in implementing and troubleshooting of CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, Octopus and GitHub Actions
- Experience in using IDEs such as Eclipse, IntelliJ.
- Familiar with Spring Framework 3.0.5 to 6.2.x a plus.
- Experience with SAFe Agile practices. Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodology and practices. Experience using Agile Tools like Rally and RTC would be useful
- Experience leading large technical programs with responsibility of end-to-end delivery. Strong communication skills with ability to work with business customers and other technical teams
- Experience using Cloud technologies like Azure or GCP. Familiar with API managers like APIC, Apigee.
- Experience with MongoDB, Redis cache a plus.
- Experience working with distributed teams, working across multiple time zones and geographies
- Passion for learning and implementing new technologies
- Strong work ethic, self-starter, and be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic, collaborative environment
Education
Bachelors in Computer Science or Information Technology
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
