Staff Software Developer (IAM)

This shift brings challenges that cannot be solved at the level of individual tools alone, challenges that involve governance, security, cost control, observability, and coordination between humans and autonomous agents.</p> <p>The <strong>JetBrains Platform team (JCP)</strong> is building the foundation that connects developer workflows, team-level collaboration, and organizational control into a single coherent system. The platform is both deeply integrated with JetBrains products and designed to work across teams, products, and environments.</p> <p>We’re now looking for an experienced <strong>Software Engineer</strong> to join an identity management and access team in JCP. The team owns several services responsible for authentication and authorization, as well as for managing organizations, user memberships, groups, and workspaces. All these form a foundational dependency for the rest of the platform. We also supply and support robust authentication components used by YouTrack, IDE Services, License Vault, Qodana, and other JetBrains products.</p> <h3><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Own the entire SDLC: codebase, architecture, and operations</li> <li>Maintain and evolve the services in Kotlin and a little bit of Go, ensuring reliability and performance as the platform grows</li> <li>Design and implement new features across the identity, organization, membership, group, and workspace domains</li> <li>Review and integrate PRs from other platform teams</li> <li>Manage integrations with other JCP platform components and connected applications</li> </ul> <h3><strong>We will be happy to have you on our team if you:&nbsp;</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Have 7+ years of JVM development experience, preferably with Kotlin</li> <li>Know how to approach performance problems on JVM and Postgres</li> <li>Are experienced in building and operating SaaS production services in a distributed, multi-tenant environment</li> <li>Can fluently navigate a modern devops stack: K8S, OpenTelemetry, Grafana</li> <li>Have a track record of taking over and improving existing production services<br><br></li> </ul> <h3><strong>Nice to have:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Prior experience with identity manag
