JAMF Software, LLC, Minneapolis, MN. Research novel vulnerabilities and exploits in operation systems (including macOS, iOS or Android) and apps used by Jamf customers. Analyze and review incident responses. Use outcomes of research to develop new threat intelligence and detection techniques for Jamf products and to publish security research / thought leadership (including CVE or 3rd party bug programs). Conduct research on world’s most secure systems including macOS & iOS running on Apple silicon. Lead research into new, innovative ways to protect users from 0-day attacks. Identify and solve cyber security vulnerabilities and intrusion detections. Detect undiscovered vulnerabilities and invent ways to locate and protect against associated exploits using knowledge of operating system design and known malicious threats and malware. Research and analyze network protocols (TCP, HTTP/S etc.). Conduct mobile security. Program with one or more scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby). Assist in setting strategic direction for teams and work areas, beyond the immediate execution of roles and factoring in internal and external influences such as trends in security industry, OS development and tooling. Reverse engineer and conduct static and dynamic analysis of mobile applications. Lead response to customer security incidents helping to understand and diagnose indicators of compromise and writing insightful, well-judged customer reports. Analyze customer value focus and iterating based on emerging threats and customer feedback. Coach and mentor other threat researchers and drive process improvement and operational excellence across Threat Research team. Remote work permitted anywhere within the US.

 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and 8 years of experience as a Staff Security Researcher or similar occupation in mobile field security research. Must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience with each of the following: researching novel vulnerabilities and / or exploits on macOS, iOS or Android; identifying and solving cyber security vulnerabilities and intrusion detections; analyzing and reviewing incident responses; researching and analyzing network protocols (TCP, HTTP/S etc.); conducting mobile security; reverse engineering, static and dynamic analysis of mobile applications; programming with one or more scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby); and analyzing customer value focus and iterating based on emerging threats and customer feedback.
