Alation’s Professional Services team is at the forefront of partnering with our key customers to unlock the true potential of their data, expertly translating complex data management requirements into strategies that drive true business outcomes and deliver measurable value. 

We are seeking a results-oriented Staff Professional Services Consultant who is passionate about leveraging Alation’s industry-leading technology to drive a data-centric culture and deliver significant impact within forward-thinking enterprises. The ideal candidate thrives on building deep, trusted advisor relationships with customers, ensuring projects are delivered with urgency, within budget, and achieving broad engagement for unparalleled customer success.

As a Consultant on the Alation Professional Services team, you are an experienced professional with deep data management expertise and a proven track record of delivering successful programs that yield clear business results. You serve as a leading authority on Alation’s technology, primarily responsible for advising key client sponsors, proactively planning and leading multi-phase implementation programs designed to accelerate usage, drive meaningful engagement, and demonstrate clear business value. You are driven to ensure customers achieve their desired outcomes and maximize the return on their Alation investment, acting as the bridge between both technical and functional data management needs and strategic business objectives.
 

What You’ll Do:

• Partner with enterprise customers to lead Alation software implementations focused on achieving defined business outcomes and delivering measurable value quickly, helping them articulate how effective data management directly contributes to their strategic goals.

• Actively participate in account knowledge transfer sessions with Alation pre-sales to understand customer goals and align implementation strategies with translating data management capabilities into tangible value delivery.

• Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers on optimal approaches for loading and managing metadata from diverse sources (databases, file systems, BI tools, etc.), always connecting technical configurations back to the business benefits they enable.

• Advise and guide customers on best practices for defining and populating data classifications, domains, taxonomies, glossaries, documentation, and lineage, ensuring alignment with their specific business needs and governance objectives with a clear focus on how these practices drive better business decisions and outcomes.

• Conduct comprehensive enablement sessions and proactively advise customers on the strategic approach and effective use of key product features and best practices to accelerate usage, drive broad adoption, and realize maximum value quickly, illustrating how specific Alation features address their data management challenges and contribute to achieving their business outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with customers to define functional requirements and technical specifications that directly support their desired business outcomes, ensuring data management requirements are clearly linked to the business impact.

• Work collaboratively with Technical Consultants to guide the creation of custom integrations for metadata ingestion, ensuring technical solutions align with functional requirements and contribute to overall project goals by effectively addressing
