Job Description

Primary Function:

We are seeking an experienced Staff Platform Engineer with 5-8+ years of proven experience in regulated environments. The ideal candidate will support small to mid-sized development teams, focusing on infrastructure automation, cloud integration, and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and Ansible for dynamic, multi-environment deployments
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, patching, release management, and establish self-healing infrastructure principles
  • Deploy and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI with container security and compliance checks
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters (GKE, AKS, EKS, ECS) including lifecycle management, RBAC, hardening, and container orchestration
  • Support AWS cloud environments (EC2, VPC, EBS, ALB, RDS, S3, EKS) and implement capacity planning for on-premises and cloud models
  • Work with NoSQL datastores (MongoDB) and RDBMS (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) for database management and optimization
  • Support service-oriented architecture (SOA) and microservices deployments with formal design processes and documentation
  • Configure networking components including subnets, VPCs, stateful firewalls, IPTables, CIDR notation, and implement security best practices
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring using Splunk, Nagios, ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana with alerting and SLO/SLI tracking
  • Provide off-hours support for critical applications and mission-critical production troubleshooting

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-8+ years DevOps/Infrastructure engineering experience in regulated environments with agile methodologies
  • Hands-on AWS expertise (EC2, VPC, EBS, ALB, RDS, S3, EKS) and Kubernetes cluster management (GKE/AKS/EKS/ECS)
  • Proficiency in Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure as Code and configuration management
  • Proficiency in at least 2 programming languages (Python, Ruby, Java) with strong scripting skills
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and container image security
  • Demonstrated networking experience: subnets, firewalls, ports/protocols, Windows Firewall, IPTables, CIDR notation
  • Experience with Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu); RedHat Satellite and Windows OS automation desired
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (Splunk, Nagios, ELK) and scaling distributed data systems
  • Team player, excellent mentor, strong analytical/problem-solving skills, and effective cross-functional communication
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related technical major, or commensurate experience
