Role Description

The Cathode Manufacturing Engineering team, part of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group at Form, is instrumental in defining, designing, deploying and scaling high-volume manufacturing equipment and is instrumental to Form delivering and scaling our technology.

Form Energy is hiring a Staff Manufacturing Engineer in our state of the art facility in Weirton, WV. This role will be directly responsible for implementing new manufacturing techniques and technologies on From’s next generation electrode manufacturing lines. 

You can expect to work closely with industrial engineers, equipment design engineers, cell design engineers, material scientists, supply chain, operations, facilities, and machine vendors as we design, build, and ramp up equipment.

What You'll Do:

  • Conceptualize, model and build specifications for Form’s next-gen high volume mixing system.  

  • Apply industry standards and best practices to deliver a world class, safe, efficient mixing process that meets targets for safety, quality and cost.

  • Partner with process engineering and R&D to validate first-in-kind production methods.

  • Work with our supply chain team to identify and partner with OEMs.

  • Perform DFM (design for manufacturing) assessments in partnership with Form’s battery component design teams.

  • Plan and execute on relevant factory layout challenges.

  • Develop automated manufacturing techniques for a wide variety of operations

  • Detailed estimates and budgets as needed to set capital targets for the program.

  • Expect travel to suppliers both domestically and internationally

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience on mixing systems in a pilot line or manufacturing environment with 5+ years of experience, depending on one's level of education

  • Experience in the design and operation of automated equipment for material handling and processing

  • Experience in a variety of manufacturing technologies, which may include roll- to-roll processing, mixing technology likes planetary mixers, high speed dispersion mixing and bulk material handling

  • Experienced in NFPA relevant standards for mixing systems

  • Well-developed collaboration skills and experience leading project execution in cross-functional teams

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical engineering or related field
