As a Staff Engineer at Applecart, you will help lead a talented team of technologists developing high impact b2b data products and full-stack applications. You will partner closely with Product/Tech leadership, setting the course for the future of the company's technology.

Who You Are

You are a veteran software developer with a mind for systems architecture. You have a long track record delivering products and collaborating with Product managers. You help define and evangelize coding best practices and enjoy coaching less senior team members.

Qualifications:

• You have 10+ years of professional software development experience
• You have ample technical leadership experience, you intuitively know how to balance code quality and velocity and you lead by example
• You have strong computer science fundamentals
• You have mastered multiple server-side languages
• You have experience with front-end development
• You have extensive experience designing application data models
• You have worked with various data storage and persistence products, and know their use-cases/strengths/weaknesses: relational databases, Snowflake, MongoDb, ElasticSearch, AWS products: Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDb, Redshift, etc…
• You are a SQL expert
• You have experience with distributed computing and know the strengths/weaknesses of different frameworks (should include Spark)
• You have DevOps experience, creating builds, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, orchestrating cloud resources, infrastructure-as-code
• You have architected many complex, distributed software systems
• You are an excellent verbal and written communicator. You are an expert at producing visuals for technical communication.
