We’re searching for a Staff Embedded Software Engineer focused on Cameras. You will play a critical role in optimizing and designing new versions of our camera ingest pipeline, working closely with both HW and SW teams.

In this role, you will 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define and implement requirements for providing camera sensor data to our AV stack.
  • Work in RTOS, linux kernel, and C/C++ SW stack layers responsible for our camera pipeline, from concept to implementation and integration.
  • Work closely with and contribute to design and specification of custom hardware.
  • Collaborate on writing internal specifications related to system architecture 
  • Participate in peer review and integration of embedded system design work using industry tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in FPGA/SOC embedded systems.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field 
  • 10 or more years of industry experience 
  • Experience with embedded software, C and C++ software development skills; expertise in other languages welcome
  • Experience developing Linux device drivers and PCIe based DMA devices. 
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems and embedded software best practices.

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA); development, testing, or SW interaction with. 
  • Experience or familiarity with Image signal processing pipelines
  • History of using best practices with version control technologies such as git

The base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $272,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
