Cruise is seeking a Staff Business Intelligence Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of business intelligence solutions that provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making across the IT organization. This role will work closely with IT leadership and key stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven insights via hands-on and programmatic execution.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Be responsible for the hands-on design and implementation of business intelligence solutions for the IT operational data domain. This includes:
- Data analytics and reporting
- Dashboards
- KPIs and strategy visualizations
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing IT operational data governance policies, standards, and procedures. These should:
- Adhere to Cruise frameworks for managing and maintaining the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of the data.
- Include standardized data definitions and formats to ensure consistency and clarity in data communication and analysis.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across a variety of business domains to understand needs and translate them into data-driven insights.
- Develop and manage IT’s business intelligence strategy in conjunction with IT leadership and cross-functional subject matter experts.
- Engage with internal IT teams such as Enterprise Integration Systems and Data Governance to build out data ingest pipelines that support data reporting and dashboarding needs.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Experience collaborating with other departments to integrate business intelligence solutions into their operations.
- At least 8 years of experience in a business intelligence or data analytics role.
- Demonstrable proficiency with Python
- Strong proficiency with data analytics tools and technologies, including Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, GSuite, Productiv, Oomnitza, BigQuery, and Okta
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns and trends in large datasets.
- Mastery with data governance and data quality management.
- Aptitude to work with vast amounts of data in new and evolving environments
- Affection for Identifying and implementing process, data, and reporting improvements for the organization
- Curiosity as a value, particularly with mining data to arrive at specific and crucial information for the organization
- Experience with streamlining and automate processes to ensure data lineage, consistency, integrity, and transparency

The salary range for this position is $139,000 - $204,300. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
