STAFF ASSISTANT - ESS Program Call Center

This is an Open Competitive opportunity.

Office location: 9393 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa FL, 33612.

Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 3 years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
    • College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.
    • Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.
    • A High School diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.

                         NOTE: Please attach a copy of education documentation (in English) such as diplomas, certificates, etc., to your application before you submit your application in People First.  These documents are required if used to qualify  for the position.

  • Be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds to perform duties.

 

Preference will given to candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Experience, education or training in hiring, employee recruitment and selection activities.
  • Experience with DCF HR systems (Footprints or DASH), People First Talent Management System, and MS Office Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Department of Children & Families’ services related to child welfare, adult protection, economic self-sufficiency, or mental health treatment facilities direct care.

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Knowledge of interviewing principles and techniques.               
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Ability to professional interact with both internal and external customers in a tactful, courteous, and effective manner.
  • Ability to record, collect, evaluate, and analyze data. 
  • Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.
  • Ability to listen effectively.
  • Ability to speak clearly and correctly.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
