Staff Accountant

Willdan Performance Engineering, a division of Willdan Group, is seeking a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions for the Finance department, including detailed data entry, vendor inquiries, discrepancy resolution, vendor account reconciliations and customer contact.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Post credit card expense reports to Deltek and ensures proper backup is provided for corporate credit card accounts.
• Responsible for daily accounts payable entry. Ensures timely approval process of each entry by managing process with key stakeholders.
• Setup of new vendors. Includes gathering proper documentation to clear AP Department requirements.
• Maintains complete and accurate payable files. Assists with accounting month end close duties including accruals for expenses received after cutoff.  
• Requests Certificates of Insurance.
• Reconciliation of vendor accounts. 
• Prepares and enters journal entries. 
• Researches and resolves accounting discrepancies.
• Positively interacts with all levels of employees and ensures excellent customer services is provided to all internal customers. 
• Provides ad-hoc reports and analysis as directed. 

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in construction or engineering.
