Job Description
The Staff Accountant will have an integral role in the Accounting & Finance team which includes reconciliations, period-end close processes, journal entry preparation, variance analysis, and internal management reporting. The role offers a great opportunity for growth, as we continue to build the accounting department and make continuous process improvements.
This is a Hybrid role (remote Mon, Wed, Friday & onsite Tue & Thu) in our Aventura, FL location.
Essential Functions
- Participate in the period-end close process including the preparation of journal entries, support schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure all required financial data is properly captured, reconciled, documented, and disclosed, consistent with accounting standards
- Prepare reporting and/or analysis
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Implement and develop solutions to drive accounting efficiencies
- Provide support during the annual audit, as necessary
- Serve as backup for accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions
- Assist with special projects and other functions, as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a similar discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of combined public accounting and private industry accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- High attention to detail with a proven ability to analyze, interpret, and resolve a variety of discrepancies
- Consistent in meeting deadlines, well organized, adept at managing peak workloads
- Creative thinker and solutions-oriented
- Dedicated to the timely delivery of a superior product
- Able to analyze, evaluate, and move quickly to support rapid decision-making
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel)
