This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility a few days a week.
Summary:
The Staff Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager in ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of our monthly financial statements, management reports, and related analysis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining the systems of internal controls, and applying basic accounting concepts, methods, and procedures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare adjusting journal entries and accruals for month-end close and ensure corporate reporting deadlines are met.
- Prepare schedule of intercompany accruals to assist corporate finance with elimination entries.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with quarterly rebate processing and payments.
- Prepare and send invoices for commissions and fees to carriers/clients.
- Process remote check deposits, post cash receipts, and apply payments to Accounts Receivable.
- Work in conjunction with other teams to assist with collections.
- Submit invoices to Accounts Payable and ensure invoices are properly coded.
- Ensure vendor information is up to date and accurate in Accounts Payable system.
- Assist in maintaining financial databases for internal reporting purposes.
- Prepare ad hoc financial and management reports as requested.
- Complete special projects as directed by the Accounting Manager.
Minimum Requirements for Education, Experience, and Certifications/Licenses:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 1-2 years of experience.
- CPA or CPA candidate is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of and adherence to GAAP reporting standards.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Must be detailed oriented and possess the ability to multitask.
- QuickBooks and/or Lawson ERP systems experience is beneficial but not required.
- Experience in the pharmacy benefit management, healthcare, or related industry is preferred.
Travel:
Little to no travel required.
