We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team! Come join us!
This role plays a key role in the monthly close process by performing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis under the supervision of senior accounting leadership. This position ensures accuracy in the general ledger, supports financial reporting requirements, and assists with internal and external audit requests. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and focused on continuous process improvement.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries for recurring and ad hoc transactions.
- Perform and maintain account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.
- Assist with the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is accurate.
- Review general ledger activity and investigate variances or unusual transactions.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages.
- Assist in responding to audit requests and preparing required documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with branch and department managers to gather information for financial reporting.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with preparing schedules and reports for tax compliance and regulatory filings.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities and support team development initiatives.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Requires a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred; internship experience considered.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Deltek ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Must hold a license as a Certified Public Accountant.
Compensation:
$65,000 - $85,000 annually
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
