Staff Accountant

In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking a Staff Accountant for the Dothan, AL facility.

 

Summary:  

The purpose of this position is to offer support to the Business Control Department in Dothan in Month End closings, Sales and Use Tax and TTB filings.      

 

   

Major Responsibilities and Accountability:

1)  Prepare all Account Reconciliations in a timely fashion. (researching and correcting and reconciling items)

2)  Assist with fixed asset reconciliations and input new assets and disposals in FAS Software as needed

3)  Prepare month end Journal Entries as assigned

4)  Set - up all month end schedules and forms prior to month end close.

5)  Prepare monthly Schedules as assigned.

6)  Assist with Annual Audit Workpapers preparation

7)  Assist with PowerPoint presentations.

8)  Assist with TTB reports and payment requests in a timely fashion

9)  Assist with all Sales and Use Tax reports and payment requests.

10) Distributes Cost Center reports to the managers and assists with Act v. Budget variances

11) Responsible for Cost Center Budgets

12) Analyze Cost Center Budgets and Forecast and explain major variances from Prior Year actual, forecast and budget

13) Assist with audits for: Sales and Use Tax, and TTB Audits

14) Perform special projects as needed assigned by the Factory Controller

SKILL:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. 

 

 

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience is required in manufacturing environment and 1-3 years of experience in Sales and Use Tax reporting. Familiarity with the following: monthly closings, budgeting and forecasting.

 

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Walking on concrete plant floor. Lifting, bending, squatting may be required at times.
