Staff Accountant

BuildOps is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. You will be directly reporting to the Controller. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who can work in a distributed team environment. 

What you’ll Do

● Take ownership of the day-to-day accounting processes including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and accruals ● Identify, improve, and enhance reporting capabilities using accounting software and related systems to streamline accounting processes ● Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all financial records ● Build and maintain relationships with business partners to ensure complete and accurate information is obtained to support the recording of entries in the general ledger ● Support in external audits, including preparing audit schedules, addressing audit queries, and implementing , and maintaining effective internal control systems ● Participate and lead, where appropriate, ad-hoc projects and analyses, as required

What we look for

● Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field ● 2-3+ years of experience in accounting or related field ● CPA & Big Four experience preferred ● Experience in a SaaS or technology startup environment is a plus ● Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures ● Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software ● Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills ● Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities ● Strong written and verbal communication skills ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
