We’ve built best-in-class programs for sectors such as Legal Cannabis, Entertainment (including Liquor Liability), Logging, Mobile Home Parks, Psychedelics (including D&O), and continue to evaluate new market opportunities.

Summary

We are seeking a motivated Sr. Underwriter to join BlueSkyRisk. In this role, you will support the launch of our new Public Access property program, with a primary focus on multi-location non-critical cat risks. As part of this initial phase, you'll actively contribute to building internal SOPs and workflows. Additionally, you will have visibility into the launch of the MGA, gaining insights into expanding our authority with current carrier partners and securing additional reinsurance support. This expansion will enable us to underwrite high TIV single and multi locations schedules and provide CAT capacity, such as coverage for Named Wind Storm, Earthquake, and Flood, in an exceptionally challenging property market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Underwrite, quote, bind invoice a portfolio a high volume of new and renewal business
  • Initially manage sourced broker relationship and eventually develop new sources of distribution
  • Refer accounts to carrier as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES:

  • Comfortable working in fast paced environment
  • Capable of working at a high level in an independent environment

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 to 5 years commercial insurance experience required
  • Experience obtaining individual risk spot facilitative reinsurance

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:

  • Property Casualty producer license in home state will be required – can obtain post hire
