Create a compelling Quality culture with external partners and drive an end to end Quality Management System through the entire supply chain by collaborating with key Internal stakeholders in Mars Fishcare R&D, Commercial, Supply, CHA Q&FS and PNNA External Manufacturing Quality with CHA Q&FS. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel.

This position oversees Quality Assurance for all External Manufacturers, Co-manufacturers and Warehouses contracted by the Mars Fishcare unit. They are responsible for assuring our partners produce high quality and safe food and non-food products that comply with product specifications, all relevant regulatory requirements and meet or exceed customer and consumer expectations. This position is responsible for overseeing/auditing our partners to ensure adherence to the Mars External Manufacturing Quality Management (EMQM) and Distribution Quality Management (DQM) Standard requirements.

What are we looking for?

Minimum:

• BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related technical field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical areas such as Laboratory Management, Quality Management Systems, Process Engineering, Chemical or Pharmaceutical Operations.

• In-depth knowledge of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems and HACCP

• High interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated leadership, change management and project management skills.

• Basic understanding of document management/workflow software applications, and search tools.

• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office tools.

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related technical field.

• PCQI Certification

• FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor Certification

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Manage and execute against the audit schedule for contracted External Manufacturing, co-manufacturing and warehousing locations in accordance with the Mars EMQM and DQM standards.

• Ensure critical Quality and Food Safety systems are in place at contracted external locations to ensure safe product including but not limited to HACCP, Incident Management, Traceability, Environmental Monitoring, Materials Management, etc.

• Assure all products and packs produced at External Manufacturers meet all quality and food safety requirements, conform to the intended product design/specification and meet all regulatory requirements.

• Ensure external sites maintain compliance and certifications for all relevant regulatory agency requirements to maintain continuity of supply.

• Provide technical support and direction to external manufacturing locations to drive continuous improvement of quality systems.

• Own the management of quality and food safety incidents occurring at contracted sites or along the subsequent supply chain.

• Track key metrics to be reported at Fishcare Quarterly Management reviews and trend data to identify continuous improvement opportunities to be shared at bi-annual performance reviews.

• Support implementation of new products, line extensions and continuous quality improvement projects in partnership with Mars Fishcare R&D.

• Partner with Mars Fishcare CHA site Q&FS team to ensure site’s in-bound material and external finished goods operating standards are met.

• Conduct audits of potential External Manufacturers, co-manufacturers and warehouses in support of the Mars Fishcare unit's business strategy.
