Position Description:

As a key member of the Engine Systems team, primary duties for the Engine Systems Engineer will include:

  • Lead technical interchange, project planning, design review and other appropriate meetings to maintain a current knowledge base of design, requirements, issues, action items, and resolution activities. Identify issues, pursue resolutions, and provide supporting analyses. Develop requirements and implement risk management processes.
  • Translate higher level requirements into lower-level functional requirements and design options. Conduct trade studies/assessments to determine the optimal design solutions.
  • Collect data and perform assessments on the system to continually assess compliance against requirements and integration across Elements.
  • Lead relevant IPT teams.  Identify and pursue resolution of issues.
  • Provide integration insight, evaluation, milestone review planning, document review, and RID disposition at the Program and Element level.
  • Lead appropriate Program-to-Program and Element-to-Program propulsion integration meetings and interface change evaluations.
  • Document and deliver results with recommendations. 
  • Perform DDT&E insight support for hypergolic bipropellant, hydrazine mono-propellant, and cryogenic propulsion systems.
  • Provide insight and support for propulsion-related test, operation, and failure investigation activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

Here's What You'll Need:

 

A degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field is required. A Degree from an ABET accredited institution is preferred. A minimum of 30 years’ experience is required.

Qualifications include:

  • Thorough understanding of spacecraft liquid, hypergolic, and cryogenic propulsion systems DDT&E as they relate to human-rated space flight is required.
