Overview We're seeking a Sr Structural Engineer to support one of our highly specialized clients delivering critical infrastructure within the nuclear energy sector. This organization is known for its technical rigor, strict adherence to regulatory standards, and a team of experienced engineers driving complex design work. You’ll play a key role in supporting safety-critical projects that demand precision and accountability.
Objective Lead structural engineering efforts for nuclear projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while supporting design, analysis, and review of critical structural systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for nuclear-related systems, including pipe supports and associated components
- Review and validate engineering calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Apply applicable codes and standards, including B31 regulations and nuclear-specific documentation requirements
- Support development and maintenance of engineering documentation in alignment with QA programs
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure design integrity and project alignment
Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in structural engineering within the nuclear industry
- Illinois SE License required
- Strong knowledge of nuclear regulations including 10CFR50 Appendix B QA Program
- Experience with structural analysis tools such as GTSTRUDL and MathCAD
- Background in pipe support design and related structural systems
- Familiarity with nuclear codes, standards, and documentation practices
- Experience performing and reviewing engineering calculations
- Supervisory or leadership experience is a plus
