Sr. Software Developer

Job Title: Lead Java Software Developer 

Location: Virginia Hybrid/Remote 

Citizenship: US Citizen

Security Clearance: Must have or be able to obtain PCIT public trust security clearance.

AttainX, Inc. is in search of a Lead Java Software Developer to provide expert leadership and guidance to our federal government clients. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 18+ years of Information Technology experience. 
• 18+ years of experience with software development with Java, VB. 
• 5+ years of leading 3-4 person SW development teams through specific projects, from requirements development through to deployment. 
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. 
• Attention to detail, problem solving, and decision-making skills. 
• Advanced Customer Service skills. 
• Experience working independently and taking initiative.
• Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Azure DevOps, ALM, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc. 
• Experience with and knowledge of USDA systems and architecture.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Must have or be able to obtain a public-trust clearance. 

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant industry recognized certifications (IIBA, ITIL, CBAP, CCAB). 
• Knowledge of ITIL IT Service management and experience defining, deploying and managing ITSM Processes. 
• Certified SCRUM Master or Certified Scrum Product Owner preferred. 

Duties:

• Evaluating, identifying and developing software solutions. 
• Leading software development projects. 
• Analyze specifications to build efficient applications, conduct multiple quality testing, and enhance the user's interface.  
• Coordinate with the design engineers to modify and improve the features of existing software applications for optimal performance.  
• Training and overseeing the activities of the members of the development team. 
• Planning, tracking and scheduling software deliverables. 
• Locating and directing solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interface. 
• Developing good working relationships with other stakeholders, such as SMEs, Program/Project Managers, Programmers and Engineers. 

Non-Essential Functions: 

• Performs other duties as assigned.
