Summary Description

Under limited field supervision of a Foreperson, Startup Technician or Project Manager, performs tasks related to the installation of commercial access control, intrusion, and CCTV systems. Complete projects in a safe and productive manner. Performs other duties as assigned by management.


Duties and Responsibilities

Essential:

  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
  • Effectively manages jobsite labor.
  • Works independently from job lead or Foreperson.
  • Lays out and/or installs cable raceways.
  • Installs and terminates access control, intrusion, and CCTV devices.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest industry equipment, electrical, electronic, and construction techniques and standards and attends pertinent technical and safety training.
  • Administers all projects, as assigned.
  • Requisitions materials as needed.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork to support field work. Including final documentation.


Job Requirements
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.


Skill/Education:

  • High school education or equivalency; post high school education desirable but not required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in security installation.
  • Ability to read, understand and effectively apply all security drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to tip and test ethernet cable for CCTV installations.
  • Capable of installing and wiring various security devices.
  • Working knowledge of basic intrusion, access control and CCTV systems.
  • Ability to organize and administer multiple job functions with good attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient level computer literacy including word processing, working with spreadsheets, processing emails and data entry.
  • Knowledge of and ability to deal with other construction trades.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical and control drawings, specifications, schematics and ladder diagrams.
  • Proficient problem solving and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Must be confident, decisive, self-motivated.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites, as needed. 
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving eligibility requirements as outlined in Tri-M/EnerG Test Policies. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Working 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8-to-10-hour shifts.
  • Standing and climbing 4 to 6 hours/day.
  • Kneeling, lifting, reaching above shoulders, and bending 4 to 5 hours/day.
  • Twisting (180°) and walking 2 to 3 hours/day.
  • Squatting and sitting 1 to 2 hours/day.
  • Lifting weights of 0 to 75 lbs. at the following frequencies:  continuous lifting of 10 to 35 lbs.; frequent lifting of 35 to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting of 50 to 75 lbs.; sizes & shapes of objects vary from concrete blocks to cylinders to 10’ lengths of metallic conduit and 20' lengths of PVC conduit; average carry requirements, 60 lbs. for 40'.
  • Ability to lift from floor to above shoulder.
  • Repetitive use of hands includes: continuous grasping up to 50 lbs.; frequent pushing and pulling of 50 to 75 lbs.; and fine motor coordination for receptacle installation and wire terminations.
  • Repetitive use of feet is required for operating heavy equipment, conduit benders and vertical climbing.
  • Vision adequate for blueprint reading and color coding for wire identification.
  • Balance adequate for continuous climbing of ladders, scaffolds, and lifts and for working from heights.
  • Environmental factors may include working in temperature extremes of 0° F to 100° F up to 8 hours inside
