(Sr.) Scientist, Protein Production

Responsibilities:

• Development and refinement of cell-free expression systems for efficient protein synthesis.
• Design and implement strategies for protein expression in various expression hosts, such as E. coli, yeast, or other organisms.
• Optimize conditions for high-yield and high-quality protein production
• Development and implementation of high-throughput protein purification methods
• Perform molecular cloning, mutagenesis, and other genetic manipulation for strain development.
• Demonstrate proficiency in operating and utilizing liquid handlers and robotic systems for automated laboratory processes.
• Collaborate with biologists, machine learning scientists, software developers, and other engineers to develop and optimize AI-driven processes.
• Track and maintain excellent data records in formats amenable to computational workflows.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to internal teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• A PhD degree in biochemistry, Molecular biology, Biotechnology.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience in protein expression and purification.
• Strong background in cell-free expression systems.
• Experience with bacterial cell culture techniques, including transformation and growth
• Proficiency in molecular biology, genetic engineering, and analytical techniques.
• Familiarity with automation techniques and high-throughput protein purification methods.
• Demonstrated proficiency in working with liquid handlers and robotic systems for automated laboratory processes
• Familiarity with Python programming for data analysis and automation is a plus

The ideal candidate has superior technical skills in one or more of these areas and thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative startup environment.
