The Senior Salesforce System Administrator will be part of a team that collaborates with business partners across the Northeastern global network. The role will span all aspects of software administration and support including but not limited to: researching, installing, and configuring applications; unit testing; user access management; data maintenance; and working alongside Salesforce Developers, Analysts, and business users. The Senior Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for Salesforce administration and configuration across the Corporate Salesforce platform. Taking an active role as a team member with Salesforce Governance, CRM user onboarding and training and the Salesforce implementation roadmap; and focusing efforts on ensuring that the Northeastern Salesforce user community is working towards getting the most out of the Salesforce platform.
In this role you will…
- Design, Customize and configure the Salesforce platform to meet the specific needs of your organization which includes creating and modifying fields, workflows and reports, uploads, data backups, as well as managing the user interface, data security.
- Manages Salesforce and related applications including configuration, integrations, reports, dashboards, workflows, and user access permissions, roles, and profiles.
- Lead data quality efforts through reporting, automation, and participation in audits.
- Manage data import and export needs for Salesforce platform.
- Work with other ITS groups to ensure the integrity and high quality of customized applications releases completed as a part of change management processes.
- Lead quarterly release schedules and projects, including documentation of business requirements, solution and technical design, test plan design, and coordination of testing with end users.
- Ensure that data within Salesforce is accurate and up to date. You'll be responsible for monitoring data quality and resolving any issues that arise, such as duplicate records or incomplete data.
- Test, provide quality assurance for, troubleshoot, resolve, and create documentation for Salesforce orgs (technical and user-facing)
- Provide first-level support to the functional users including issue identification and resolution, creating user guides and documentation, conducting training sessions.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting requests and optimize the user experience related to reports and dashboards.
- Identify and evaluate new features and functionality, including working with Salesforce User groups across the University.
- Makes recommendations for how Salesforce can be better utilized to support changing business and technical requirements.
- Escalate issues related to customization/implementation upgrades or new installs of applications.
- Collaborate with other teams within the organization to understand their needs and to ensure that Salesforce is optimized for their specific use cases.
- Assume additional responsibilities as required
Hybrid Position- 2 days per week average in our Boston office
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator
- Salesforce Administrator certification required.
- Experience with Salesforce Lightning and Sales Cloud required.
- Must have a good understanding and usage of Data Loader, Demand Tools, Salesforce reports, views, workflow rules, approval processes, validation rules, record types, and page layouts.
- Familiarity with standard Salesforce objects and best practices on their usage – Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Campaigns, Cases, Reporting and Dashboards, etc.
- Strong customer-service approach to serving members and colleagues.
- Deep understanding of building and maintaining object models and data models.
- Proficiency in Salesforce administration, including but not limited to designing and configuring fields, workflows, roles, profiles, and reports.
- Commitment to quality work; the ability to think critically and creatively; dependable initiative and good judgement.
- Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
