Sr. Research Associate, Animal Care

What this position is all about: Cellarity, Generate, Laronde and Tessera are seeking a talented and highly motivated RA II/Senior RA with expertise in rodent handling, husbandry, dosing and procedural techniques to work as an animal research technician at their shared animal care facility. This individual will play a key role in the four companies’ efforts to develop and validate novel therapeutics and will work closely with scientists to advance their scientific programs. Responsibilities include husbandry and administrative tasks as well as assisting the in vivo pharmacology groups with animal monitoring, dosing, and other procedures. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in and contributing to a fast-paced, dynamic and cross-functional team environment and should be independent, goal oriented, have strong communication skills and be eager to learn new skills. The position is administered by Cellarity, and supports all four companies.

Cellarity, Generate Biomedicine, Laronde and Tessera Therapeutics are Flagship Pioneering companies with the shared goal to bring breakthrough medicines to patients, each with a novel approach. What you would be responsible for:

• Perform animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals
• Assist with daily observations, care and dosing of disease model animals to advance research programs
• Administrative tasks as needed in support of facility operations
• Carry out accurate sample collection in all study phases
• Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to assist with maintenance of the animal care programs of the four companies
• Maintain detailed records of husbandry and supply receipt

What experience will you need:

• Experience with rodent husbandry and behavior; 4+ years’ experience working in an accredited facility strongly preferred
• Demonstrated command of animal welfare
• Proficiency with dosing methods used in rodents
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical/behavioral/health information in a clear and thorough manner
