Sr Relationship Manager, Institutional Real Estate

127 Public Square - Cleveland, Ohio 44114Looking to hire either a Relationship Manager or Senior Relationship Manager for the Cleveland IRE team based on qualifications and experience.
A Relationship Manager (RM) works closely with Senior Bankers to source new client relationships, manages existing client relationships, and works with deal teams to underwrite, structure and document new credit opportunities. RMs manage a portfolio of relationships with primary responsibility for managing risks and serve as one of the client’s primary contacts within IREG. RMs work closely with product partners such as the Commercial Mortgage Group, Real Estate Syndications, Real Estate Investment Banking and Enterprise Commercial Payments (cash management) to generate diversified income across relationships. This role will also work closely with Credit Risk Management to ensure appropriate risk underwriting, reporting and monitoring of the credit extended to clients within IREG.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Work closely with other IREG teammates to provide prospects and clients creative solutions to efficiently finance their real estate portfolio/business.
• Develop and maintain close client relationships and provide balance sheet lending and off-balance sheet financing options that fit within the bank’s risk tolerance.
• Maintain direct, often daily, contact with clients to synthesize portfolio financial data and assess risks of extending structured credit products to solve clients’ financing needs.
• Take a leading role managing the deal team, effectively and regularly communicating with the IREG team, internal product partners, borrowers, and prospects.
• Mentor, coach and develop Analysts and Associates
• Engage in and/or initiate sales and prospecting activities that align to the targeted growth strategies for the business.
• Work in the office most days is expected, and periodic travel may also be required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 4-6+ years of experience in commercial real estate and/or banking
• Strong analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and strong work ethic
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree or class work in finance, accounting, commercial real estate, or economics
• Financial modeling coursework or experience
• Experience transacting/banking with institutional real estate companies including REITs and Real Estate Private Equity Funds
• Experience prospecting for new business and executing sales strategies leading to business growth.
