About the role
Amazon is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Industrial Engineering Program Manager who is able to collaborate effectively with internal and external technical teams and be responsible for the overall quality and commissioning of the MHE systems across multiple building types.
The person will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current MHE technologies and storage solutions. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an innovative environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our MHE Systems meet the highest quality standards and that our qualification processes are optimized for efficiency and reliability.
You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leading quality engineering initiatives for highly complex products in the aerospace, aviation maintenance, or automotive industries. The right candidate will also be a strong integrator who prioritizes well and communicates effectively.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures to ensure the consistent quality of material handling equipment.
• Develop key partnerships and programs that align vendor process and product build cycles to the needs of Amazon growth and scale with quality systems at the core of the development
• Architect a BIQ (Built in Quality) mentality and validation program to align vendors to cultural and procedural transformations
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (including but not limited to: PETs, SPD, WWDE, RME, AE, Operations) to make sure quality tools and programs meet the needs of the business
• Lead and coordinate execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors focusing on quality improvements
• Work directly with vendors to issue Change Requests required to improve quality on any in-flight projects, negotiate Change Orders, and work internally to secure funding to complete additional qualification scope, as necessary
• Continuously assess quality processes to identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reduction.
• Be a champion for quality in actions and culture
• Ability to travel up to 75% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders
