The Sr. Program Manager leads complex, high-impact initiatives in collaboration with leadership, business units, pharmacy teams, and sales stakeholders. This role is responsible for driving strategic agreements that support organizational goals related to specialty pharmacy offerings, compliance, and program optimization. The manager applies deep technical and industry expertise to guide the planning, negotiation, and execution of contracts, ensuring alignment with scope, quality, risk mitigation, and timelines. The role serves as a key advocate for disciplined, data-driven contracting approaches that enhance value and operational efficiency across Prime.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and lead operational plans for programs and initiatives related to assigned line of business across all market segments and for maintaining alignment and identifying interdependencies between all program level work efforts
- Manage the contract lifecycle for multiple relationships, including renewals and amendments
- Execute, and lead strategic initiatives to align and identify interdependencies between all program level work efforts
- Support contract negotiation processes with clients, strategic pharmacy partners and program vendors
- Collaborate with various business units, cross functional teams and key stakeholders to ensure timely, and accurate execution of agreements
- Manage products/programs and implement tools/enhancements to ensure new strategies are successfully developed and implemented
- Collaborate with other business units to develop business cases to support new program opportunities/enhancements and performance target metrics
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Health Care Administration, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
- 5 years of work experience in healthcare, PBM, specialty pharmacy, or health care consulting
- 1 year of project/program management experience
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to work in self-directed environment
- Critical thinking skills and ability to anticipate issues and develop innovative solutions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field
- Proven experience negotiating contracts with pharmacies, vendors, PBMs, or health plans
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with sales, legal, and finance teams
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
