About the team and the role:
At eBay, we’re building a trusted global marketplace where millions of buyers and sellers connect every day. Within the Payments Compliance organization, our mission is to enable safe, compliant, and seamless commerce experiences at scale. We design and operate AML and Sanctions capabilities that protect our customers, meet global regulatory obligations, and support sustainable business growth.
As eBay Live expands interactive, real-time commerce experiences, compliance innovation is more important than ever. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution of AML and Sanctions controls purpose-built for the eBay Live platform.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of payments, financial crime compliance, and live marketplace innovation. You will define and deliver scalable compliance capabilities that meet global regulatory standards while enabling friction-right customer experiences in a dynamic, real-time environment. You will own the product vision and strategy for AML and Sanctions controls across eBay Live, working closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk Policy, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, and Business teams. Your work will directly influence how we detect and prevent financial crime, manage regulatory risk, and maintain trust in a fast-evolving commerce ecosystem.
What you will accomplish:
Define and drive the product strategy for AML and Sanctions controls across eBay Live, ensuring compliance-by-design in all new experiences
Build and scale core compliance capabilities including sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, risk rating, suspicious activity detection, reporting, and operational tooling
Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to translate global regulatory requirements into clear product requirements and scalable technical solutions
Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science to build risk-based, data-driven controls bringing to bear AI/ML models for real-time and near real-time detection
Establish measurable control frameworks and benchmarks to optimize efficiency, reduce false positives, and improve operational efficiency
Drive cross-functional alignment across Payments, Marketplace, Risk, and Live product teams to embed compliance into new launches and international expansion
What you will bring:
Bachelors or masters degree in Engineering, Management etc.
5+ years of product management experience, including experience in Payments, AML, Sanctions, Financial Crime Compliance, or Trust & Risk
Strong knowledge of global AML regulations, sanctions regimes (e.g., OFAC, EU, UK), risk rating frameworks, and transaction monitoring systems
Experience building and scaling risk or compliance platforms in complex, regulated environments
Proven ability to translate regulatory and policy requirements into well-defined product and engineering roadmaps
Strong analytical abilities with experience using data, experimentation, and risk metrics to inform decisions
Proven outstanding cross-functional leadership and collaborator management skills
