Applied Signal Technology: WHO WE ARE

What You Will Do:

  • You will apply your systems engineering and software development experience to support the product development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of our advanced airborne Communications Intelligence (COMINT) and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) solutions as well as support and participate in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) related internal research and development projects, business pursuits and marketing activities.

  • You will contribute to and be an integral part of multi-discipline engineering project teams and be challenged by real-work assignments that include any combination of: 

  • Technical research, concept demonstration, trade studies, requirements management, technical documentation, and technical presentations.

  • Technical proposals and request for information (RFI) support including writing draft technical volumes and Basis of Estimates (BOEs).

  • Software systems engineering and/or software development on various products and programs.

  • System I&T plan and procedure development for both laboratory and field environments for demonstration and/or requirement sell-off.

  • System deployments (installation, integration/validation/verification), including travel to customer premises.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will learn COMINT/ELINT principles and concepts and work side-by-side with industry recognized technical leaders to develop and implement state of the art airborne signals intelligence (SIGINT) systems.

  • You will expand your knowledge in modern communications signal processing techniques, RF systems engineering including link budget analysis and propagation modeling, and direction finding and geolocation processing.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires minimum of 10 years of practical systems and software engineering experience in product development, integration, deployment, and/or sustainment of SIGINT systems for the U.S. Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community.

  • Minimum 8 years or more of formal software development experience using the Angular web development framework and Java full stack development environments, and C++ Linux application development environments.

  • Minimum 3 years or more of experience performing system integration, verification, and validation of SIGINT sensors onto airborne platforms.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% travel time to other AST sites and customer sites to support customers meetings and demonstrations, system deployments (installation, integration/validation/verification).

  • Experience producing system engineering contract deliverables such as system/subsystem descriptions, ICDs, hardware and software specifications, acceptance test plans, acceptance test procedures, and acceptance test reports.

  • Experience with laboratory and field testing and troubleshooting of airborne COMINT and/or ELINT systems to the hardware, software and/or firmware unit levels.

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with the ability to effectively communicate with subordinates, peers, and leadership.

  • US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for security clear
