As we continue to leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance our operations, we are looking for a talented Senior Network Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. This role will play a pivotal part in designing and driving Tenaska’s network strategy and systems, collaborating with various business line technology functions, and ensuring cybersecurity requirements are met.

Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure network deployments and changes align with approved security and routing protocols.
- Deploy, manage, and support remote network hardware and services, including on-premises and cloud connectivity, switching, routing, firewalls, SD-WAN, load balancing and wireless technologies.
- Utilize deep expertise in Cisco routing and switching techniques within a Campus or a Data Center.
- Provide excellent customer service, time management, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills in a collaborative environment.
- Possess strong experience with standard networking protocols, including but not limited to BGP, OSPF, VXLAN EVPN, IPSec, RSTP, MSTP, HSRP, MACsec, SNMPv3.
- Independently design and implement enterprise-level networking solutions with a focus on data center and/or network security technologies.
- Schedule and coordinate with colleagues, remote site personnel, and partners for necessary network migrations, installs, upgrades, and changes.
- Maintain and ensure proper creation, configuration, and monitoring of all points within the network, with a particular emphasis on routing optimization.
- Design and implement automation for predictable, repeatable tasks, particularly in Cisco security and traffic management.
- Assist with 24/7/365 on-call duties, responding to and resolving production-down issues for Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, Cisco Secure Firewalls, and Meraki environments.
- Provide technical leadership to other members of the network infrastructure team on cross-impacted projects, particularly those involving routing strategies.
- Document and maintain comprehensive documentation of network infrastructure, with detailed notes on routing protocols and configurations.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS / CS or related is required
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting mixed vendor environments (Cisco, Palo Alto, Azure, Meraki Networks, F5, Fortinet) utilizing dynamic routing protocols, firewalls, and load balancing technologies
- Relevant professional and/or military experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
- CCNP Data Center, CCNP Security, F5-CA, PCNSA, JNCIA or equivalent level certification required
Ideal Experience:
- Experience with switching, firewalls, and advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS), and technologies such as IPSEC VPN, DNS, DHCP, and Spanning-Tree
- Experience on the any or some of the following platforms: Thousand Eyes, Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller, Palo Alto NGFW and Strata Cloud Manager, Prisma Access, FortiGate NGFW
- Experience with Kubernetes Cilium
- Industry Professional-level or expert certifications from Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, Juniper or Fortinet such as CCIE, F5-CTS, FCX, FCSS, PCNSE highly desired
