As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will focus on designing and developing modular mechanical solutions for avionics test equipment, with an emphasis on cost reduction, reuse, and common architecture. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle—concept, prototyping, testing, and production—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve engineering challenges and support manufacturing.
What You Will Do:
Create Modular designs for a family of test equipment pertaining to Boundary Scan and Power Supply Testing
Champion common architecture in Mechanical design with a specific focus on design for cost reduction and reuse
Developing designs, documentation creation and modification, production support
Contribute to the success of a cross-functional team to develop solutions to production and field testing problems. This could include initial design, prototyping, and environment testing solutions.
Develop and review product designs and analyze development and design requirements
Design of test fixtures, cables, interconnects and associated documentation
Perform tolerance analysis
Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers
Plan and manage tasks effectively
Facilitate documentation and drawings of mechanical designs from inception through release
Specific tasks include enclosure structural design, thermal, vibration, other environmental considerations, design verification, prototype build and production transition to the factory.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Demonstrated experience interacting with various engineering teams comprised of other mechanical engineers, mechanical drafters, electrical engineers, software engineers and system engineers.
5+ Years of experience with NX Designer, Solidworks, or similar design tools, and common fabrication practices (subtractive and additive)
Qualifications We Prefer:
Candidate must be detail oriented and be able to excel in a team environment
Familiar with Collins or Avionics products
Mechanical test equipment design experience focused on portfolio offering development
Experience decomposing requirements for physical design
Organizational skills with ability to effectively communicate design choices based on broad mix of UUTs considered
