The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Hemming will design, develop, and optimize roll hemming processes and equipment for automotive sheet metal parts (aluminum, steel and others) ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in production.
You Will:
- Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity
- Design and develop roll hemming processes and equipment for various automotive sheet metal parts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly
- Optimize roll hemming processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
- Lead, conduct and develop and implement hemming control plan, process controls and quality checks to ensure consistency and reliability
- Troubleshoot roll hemming issues and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process sheets and equipment manuals
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement new roll hemming technologies
- Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to drive & Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity in manufacturing processes and products
- Develop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processes
- Work with Suppliers to improve flanges, break-lines and flange angles to improve hemming where needed
- Participate in FMEA evaluation and updates
- Support and participate in new model launch phases product and process design
- Execute shim moves and document in shim log
- Technical expertise in roll hemming and sheet metal manufacturing

You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineering, or related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive sheet metal manufacturing, with a focus on roll hemming
- Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in company values & behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal forming, welding, and assembly processes
