About the role

POSITION SUMMARY:

Senior Manager, Software Engineering overseas the design and development of software applications.  Manages software engineers and leads development of large software projects. Has full responsibility over some components of Natera software stack.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be an expert of one or more applications such as LIMS, Constellation, Cloud pipelines etc.

  • Manage a team of software engineers.

  • Manage large development projects and lead cross-functional team of developers, QA and technical product managers.

  • Manage project timelines and resources allocation.

  • Participate in building software architecture, developing and reviewing code.

  • Contribute to engineering development processes improvements.

  • Be responsible for one or more of the components of Natera software stack.

  • This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job

  • Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire.

  • Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent; MS degree in Computer Science preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in an equivalent position.

  • 5+ years of experience in software developing using Java.

  • Experience managing employees.

  • Role accomplishes tasks through direct supervision of employees.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience building highly scalable distributed systems.

  • Ability to manage technical teams.

  • Experience in creating software for processing Next Generation Sequencing data.

  • Understanding concepts of probability theory and mathematical statistics.

  • Experience developing software in regulated environment.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.Austin, TX$140,100$175,100 USD
